They Killed Sister Dorothy

This fascinating documentary narrated by Martin Sheen reveals the story behind Sister Dorothy, a 73 year-old Catholic nun from Ohio who was shot six times at point blank range and left to die on a muddy road in the Brazilian Amazon.  Dorothy had dedicated her life to pushing a government initiative aimed at preventing wealthy landowners from destroying the rainforest.  Her efforts provoked extreme hostility from indigenous workers, whose livelihoods were threatened by this initiative, touching off a series of shocking events that culminated in her murder.
