The film follows (simultaneously) the story of the son of Honduran parents who was born in this country and is therefore an American, and the story of his mother, father and sister who are not Americans and were deported. He lives and has lived with extended family in New Jersey while the rest of his family lives back in Honduras in a crime ridden, gang controlled neighborhood. At a certain point, he travels to visit them which leads to consequences none of them could have imagined. Any one in interested in immigration, refugees, families MUST see this film.
