BLACK KITE

In the tradition of Cinema Paradiso and Kolya, this Afghan language film follows  Arian  the son of a kite maker growing up in a pre-Taliban Afghanistan.  While he wants nothing more than to follow in his father's footsteps and become a kite maker, he needs to rethink when Taliban comes into power, and outlaws the practice of flying kites.  When his young daughter becomes obsessed with kite flying, Arian decides to risk everything to pass on his beloved family tradition to her.
